We are the interfaith network for the borough.
We aim to promote a greater understanding of the role of faith communities within the voluntary and community sector or as part of wider civic society.
We do this by liaising between faith groups and secular organisations including the statutory services and also by running training programmes for faith groups and for statutory departments or businesses who want to know more about how to engage with religious communities or work with people of different faiths and beliefs.
In addition to this we also offer support to faith groups who are involved in or want to develop any projects which benefit their local community by means other than purely providing religious services. We do this by visiting faith groups and helping them to network with other providers or supporting organisations.
We also aim to increase tolerance, understanding and cooperation between different faith communities by being involved in initiatives such as Peace Week and Interfaith Week and occasionally by running interfaith projects such as The Eco Preachers course which we ran in 2010.
